FAQ
What exactly does Paradoxon Wattmeter do?
It monitors electrical power and sensors (noise, airflow, vibration) in real time over RS485, and logs every reading in a historical table. It's ideal for the test bench of shops that repair motors and appliances.
What do I need to connect it to my meter?
An RS485–USB adapter and wiring to the meter. In the program you select the COM port and communication parameters. If you don't have the hardware, Paradoxon, LLC can help you source it.
Can Paradoxon LLC help me build the whole system?
Yes. Beyond the software, we advise you on sourcing compatible meters, sensors and adapters — and we can work with you to build the complete electrical diagnostics system for your shop.
Can I connect several sensors at once?
Yes. The RS485 bus supports several daisy-chained devices on one cable, and all readings appear in the same interface.
Which sensors are supported besides the power meter?
Noise sensor, anemometer (airflow) and vibration sensor for motors and machinery.
Are readings saved?
Yes. Every measurement is timestamped and logged in the historical table, ready for analysis and comparison (for example, before and after a repair).
What are micro-adjustments?
Fine per-reading corrections that align sensor values with your reference instrument, so data is accurate in your specific setup.
What are profiles for?
They store a complete configuration (port, sensors, micro-adjustments, preferences). Switch between equipment types or measurement scenarios with one click.
Is it useful for diagnostics and predictive maintenance?
Yes: correlating power draw with vibration and noise on the same unit lets you detect wear or overload before failure — and verify a repair was done right.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. All communication is local (RS485/COM) and data is stored on your machine.
What happens if I stop paying the annual license?
Nothing bad: the software keeps working. You keep, forever, the last version you were entitled to. The only thing you stop receiving is new updates. We do not lock your software and we do not ask you to uninstall it.
Which one suits me, Annual or Lifetime?
If you want the smallest upfront investment and to see how it goes, choose Annual: you pay less and the software is yours even if you never renew. If you know you will use it for years and want every future improvement without paying again, Lifetime works out cheaper in the long run.
Do I need internet for it to work?
No. The license is verified on your own computer. You only need a connection to activate it the first time. If your internet goes down, your shop keeps working.
On how many computers can I install it?
One license = one computer. If you change machines or one breaks, you can release the license yourself and activate it on the new one, up to twice a year. If you need more, write to us and we will do it at no cost.
What if my PC dies?
You release the license from the website with your key and your email, and activate it on the new machine. You lose nothing.
Is the trial feature-limited?
No. It is 14 days with absolutely everything enabled, and we do not ask for a credit card. If you decide to buy, your data is still there: you do not start over.
Can I upgrade from Annual to Lifetime later?
Yes. Write to us and we will credit what you already paid for the current year.
What happens to my data if I stop using the software?
It is yours and it lives on your computer, not on our servers. You can export it whenever you want, even if your license has expired.
